About the Information System Organisation (ISO)
The Information System Organisation (ISO) functions under the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and serves as the central technical and digital governance wing of the Department.
ISO is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of IT-enabled systems, including departmental portals, dashboards, websites, mobile applications, and digital platforms that support efficient administration, monitoring, and decision-making.
ISO operates under the administrative control of the Chief Engineer (Information System Organisation) and provides integrated technological support for digital governance, information management, and monitoring systems within the Department. Through the development and management of digital platforms and databases, ISO facilitates transparent administration, and data-driven decision-making at various levels of governance.
The organisation also supports the dissemination of departmental information through digital platforms and oversees the official social media presence of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department and the Hon’ble Jal Shakti Minister to ensure timely communication and public outreach.

To establish a transparent, efficient, responsive, and technology-driven governance framework in the Irrigation and Water Resources Department through robust digital systems, real-time monitoring, and data-centric decision support.
Major Functions and Works of ISO
- Planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of IT-enabled systems for the Irrigation and Water Resources Department.
- Development, management, and continuous updation of departmental websites and portals.
- Coordination, data feeding, and validation of departmental project-related information on the Chief Minister Information System (CMIS) Portal for monitoring by the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office.
- Coordination, monitoring, and disposal of grievances pertaining to the Irrigation and Water Resources Department through the State Government–run IGRS Portal.
- Management and maintenance of IT infrastructure at the departmental headquarters.
- Technical support for website updation, hardware, and system operations.
- Technical coordination and IT support for departmental e-Governance platforms, including facilitation of the e-Tendering process, Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal, technical assistance for Manav Sampada (eHRMS), and support in the implementation and operationalization of the e-Office system across departmental offices.
- Support to State-level water resources planning, basin-level management, policy formulation, and public data access through integrated and authenticated information systems.
- Management and monitoring of the official social media platforms of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department.
- Digital outreach, public information dissemination, and support to the communication initiatives of the Hon’ble Jal Shakti Minister.
